Episode 4 English Subbed
Overlord (オーバーロード Ōbārōdo?) is a Japanese light novel series written by Kugane Maruyama and illustrated by so-bin. It began serialization online in 2010, before being acquired by Enterbrain. Nine volumes have been published since July 30, 2012. A manga adaptation with art by Hugin Miyama began serialization in Kadokawa Shoten's seinen manga magazine Comp Ace from November 26, 2014.[1] An animetelevision series adaptation by Madhouse began airing from July 7, 2015.[2]
Plot[edit]
The story begins within Yggdrasil, a popular virtual reality online game which is quietly shut down one day; however, the protagonist Momonga decides to remain logged in until the very end due to his affection for the game. Momonga however wasn't logged out and instead became stuck in his in-game avatar of a skeletal lich, known as "the most powerful wizard." The world continues to change, with non-player characters (NPCs) feeling emotions and coming to life. Having no parents, friends, or place in society, this ordinary young man Momonga then strives to take over the new world the game has become.
Characters[edit]
Ainz Ooal Gown (アインズ・ウール・ゴウン Ainzu Ūru Goun?) / Momonga (モモンガ?)Voiced by: Satoshi Hino (drama CD, anime)The main character and the only remaining member of the Guild of Ainz Ooal Gown. Originally he was a simple salaryman, but after ending up trapped in the game, he decides to make himself a legend in the new world, since he has no friends or family in the real world. He now has the form of a lich. This form means he doesn't need to eat or sleep, can't be poisoned or killed by conventional means, but also suppresses his emotions and empathy. Because of his formerly high level on Yggdrasil, he can easily overpower even the strongest magic casters in the new world and while he lacks the skills of natural warriors, he compensates it with raw strength.Albedo (アルベド Arubedo?)Voiced by: Yumi Hara (drama CD, anime)The overseer of the Floor Guardians and the most powerful NPC in Nazarick. She takes the form of a beautiful woman with fallen angel wings and horns. Because Momonga on a whim modified her programming, she's now madly in love with him, something he greatly regrets now. While most of the time tries to act calm, any perceived insult against Momonga or Nazarick, real or imagined, sends her into a rage. Like most inhabitants of Nazarick, she despises humans.
